for example是舉一個實例，是個句子。

for instance通常接一個事情。只不過前者較常用。

就是在一個句子或者一段話中為了行文流暢，避免重復，而使用，也就是說，在一個句子中如果要用到兩個“舉例”，一般是不會在同樣的短語，一般用同義詞表示。

三、側重點不同

For example是側重通過示例，更傾向于項目列表，讓受眾好理解，而for instance側重給出一個佐證的案例，一個事件經過。

for example和for instance和such as的區別是什么

一、語序不同

1、for example是插入語，可以插在句子的任意位置，甚至可以放在句子前面。

2、such as中such是后置形容詞(of the same kind as that already mentioned or being mentioned)，所以只能跟在所修飾的主詞后面。主詞和such之間可以有逗號，也可以沒有逗號。只有在主詞和such之間加逗號的such as才有“例如”的意思。

3、such as用于舉例時，總是跟在被說明的內容之后，不能獨立成句，也不能用于句首或句末，其后也不能用逗號，但for example可以。

二、意思不完全相同

1、在語義上for example有“側重于給例子讓對方明白”的含義。

2、such as就只是讓所修飾的主詞豐富起來。

3、for example 比用得多，所以選取前者更保險。

三、讀音不同

1. such as = like,都視為介詞,其后加名詞、代詞和動名詞等,一般列舉不完全的多例,且和舉例之間直接相連.

如：I have many friends, such as / like Tom, Mary and Jim.

2. for example = for instance,視為獨立成分,一般只列舉一例,和舉例之間用逗號隔開,例子形式多樣,可以是單詞、短語或句子.

如：I have many friends. For example/instance, Jack is my best friend.

for example 和such as 和for instance有什么區別

（1）such as一般用來列舉同類人或物中的幾個例子，插在被列舉的例子和前面的名詞之間，as后沒有逗號。在使用such as時應注意后面列舉事物的數量不能等于前面所提事物的總和，若相等時用namely或that is. 如：

He has been to many countries, such as America, Japan and Germany. 他去過很多國家，比如美國、日本和德國。

He can speak three foreign languages, namely Chinese, English and French. 他能說三門外語，即漢語、英語和法語。

（2）for example一般只舉同類人或物中的一個為例，作插入語，可置于句首、句中或句末。如：

為什么 for instance 和important 里面的t不發音?

今天正好上了發音課，important中間的t確實不發音，發的是鼻音/n/，這是母語國家的人在口語中經常會用到的省力的音變，但是我不太清楚規律，以及發/n/音還挺難的。
